Business Insights Analyst (12 month FTC)

Summary of Role

This role is the second within the Business Insights team and is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow with the team, and to inform and impact the business through the generation of actionable insights, championing the use of data and analytics.  Having recently built a data warehouse, the Business Insights team is on a journey to further develop its use and capability in support of efficient and effective data analysis, providing ANS with both front-end and back-end business intelligence exposure. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Insights Lead and partner with the wider business, at all levels, to provide intelligent analysis with a focus on continuous improvement in all business activities.  This is a varied and broad role where you will work both independently and as part of a team, across projects, routine reporting, and ad hoc requests, while ensuring data integrity is maintained.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing data-led insights through the creation of robust and compelling qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Creating compelling visuals and graphics to tell the story of the data and inform the audience.
  • Owning regular and routine reporting.
  • Assisting on ad hoc requests.
  • Maintaining a focus on data integrity and data management.
  • Involvement in SQL data warehouse development.
  • Supporting on projects from a data perspective; understanding the project objectives, the outputs needed to meet the objectives, and the raw data required to enable this.
  • Interacting with the wider ANSL & DFS business, where required.
  • Innovative approach to the use of a range of presentation/visualisation and analytical tools, constantly exploring ways to improve earlier processes and sourcing better information or datasets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a quantitative discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience within a data analytics or business intelligence function.
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Previous experience within the aviation industry is desirable but not essential.
